The City of Stamping Ground has received the resignations of Fire Chief Billy McIntosh and Assistant Fire Chief Jacob Pasley within the last four days.

As mayor, I would like to express my gratitude to them for the many years of service dedicated to the City of Stamping Ground. It takes very special people to volunteer their time and efforts on a regular basis. Their devotion to the Fire Department and the people in this community has been very apparent and I would like to thank them for being an inspiration to us all. I would like to wish both Chief McIntosh and Assistant Chief Pasley every success in their future endeavors.

We currently have appointed an interim Chief, Josh Cook. The City of Stamping Ground will start a search for a permanent Chief and the Commission will also work with the Volunteer Fire Department in restructuring Standard Operating Procedures.

I would also like to assure every citizen that I have communicated with Judge Executive George Lusby and our community has and will continue to be well protected by the Scott County Fire Department and EMS, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
