Robert Duncan and his family have been residents of Stamping Ground in 1994. He was a Stamping Ground City Commissioner for two terms in the late 1990s and early 2000s, serving as fire commissioner and parks commissioner. His current role is the Police commissioner.
As a city commissioner, Duncan’s vision is to see Stamping Ground grow in population and business by highlighting available residential lots for building and its strong infrastructure, elementary school, emergency services and available commerce.
He and his wife, Mary, have also served their community as volunteer firefighters for over 10 years. Duncan is still a volunteer Captain with the Scott County Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security.
In a lifelong career in education of over 30 years, Duncan is currently a content specialist for the Kentucky Department of Education. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art education and a Master of Arts in Education degree in counseling.
