Stamping Ground is gearing up for it’s annual “Home for Christmas” celebration!

This year we are excited to announce that we are adding a new category to our annual home decorating contest… “Most Creative Door.”

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in the following categories:

Griswald Award – Use of motion lights and animated decorations encouraged. Judging will be made on the amount of construction involved in the display, the brightness, and liveliness detail put in to the display. More is better!

Most Traditional Award- traditional Christmas decorations and lights. Judging will be made on the elegance and beauty of the display.

Most Creative Door Award- Entryway door only will be judged based on creativity and originality as it pertains to the holiday season.

Please enter your address for judging consideration by December 19th at City Hall. Judging times will be announced at a later date.

On December 10th at 4:00pm we will have our Christmas parade, (prizes for awesome floats) followed by a visit with Santa at 4:30, (at the Ruritan Building on Main Street) and a tree lighting ceremony at 5:30.

Flu Shot Clinic December 14

The Scott County Senior Citizen’s Center, The City of Stamping Ground, and Hometown Pharmacy are partnering to assist seniors and every citizen in need.

Hometown Pharmacy will deliver prescriptions to Stamping Ground! To start receiving your medications at your doorstep please contact them at 502-863-3784.

A flu shot clinic will be held at the Stamping Ground City Hall on December 14. Scott County Senior Citizen’s will provide free transportation for seniors coming to the flu shot clinic, but you must call them at 502-863-4041.

Most seniors will not have a cost for the flu shot because it will be covered by Medicare or other insurance provider. If you do not have insurance, there might be an associated cost.

We hope this partnership will offer some relief and lead to improved health management for citizens of Stamping Ground, after the loss of our town physician and pharmacy.
